Coral Bevan is an award-winning, London-based actor, comedic clown, singer, writer, and filmmaker, known for her bold, heart-driven performances infused with absurdity. Her work spans character comedy, theatre, film, and music; showcasing her talents in many different areas.
Bevan’s journey in performance is rooted in world-class training. She honed her craft at the prestigious École Philippe Gaulier in Paris, the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London, and The Groundlings in Los Angeles. This foundation has enriched her skills in physical comedy and character work, both on stage and on screen.
Her critically acclaimed solo show, ‘Fisherman Jon: What’s on the End of My Rod?’, has been a runaway success. Garnering five-star reviews and sold-out performances in 2023 and 2024, it triumphantly debuted at the Soho Theatre on Dean Street. The show has been praised for its unique blend of heartfelt storytelling and surreal humor.
Bevan’s film and writing work has won the Fulwell 73/Comedy 50:50 Award for Best Short and earned her finalist spots in Funny Women and the British Comedy Guide’s Talent Awards. Her films have been showcased at premier festivals, including the Munich Film Festival, and her short was named Best UK Short at the Raindance Film Festival. Bevan’s iconic male comedy character, Fisherman Jon, also earned acclaim as a finalist in Man-Up, Europe’s largest drag king competition.
Her acting career includes being cast along with The People Pile as commedia dell’arte performers in the ‘Survivors Ball’ segment of Napoleon, directed by the legendary Ridley Scott.
As co-founder of Asparagus Mousse Productions, Bevan & Hunt have spearheaded a diverse range of projects, including Bevan’s solo shows, the riotous Christmas production ‘Nut Crack’, and two comedy-horror short films currently in development, both set to debut on the film festival circuit in 2025.
Bevan is also a “Clown Consultant” alongside her comedy partner Ricky Hunt, lending their expertise to theatrical productions such as Garsington Opera’s ‘Ariadne Auf Naxos’. In 2022, she co-wrote the smash-hit festive extravaganza ‘Moulin Scrouge’, which sold out and is to return bigger and better in December 2025. Critics hailed it as “a story about a time, a story about a place, but above all, a story about a tight arse.”
Bevan’s creative talents extend to music under her alias Coral May, composing original soundtracks for films and contributing writing credits to Neon Gru, fronted by Ny Oh, the acclaimed musician and member of Harry Styles’ band.
